Exquisite Taste - Master Flavor

Our Capello Collection

  • Capello Filler: Haitian-Grown Mata Fina–Corojo

Haiti’s legacy in tobacco cultivation runs deep — a heritage shaped by indigenous Taíno practices, enriched by French colonial influence, and preserved through generations of artisanal growers. Today, in the mineral-rich soils of Mirebalais and the surrounding highlands, Capello cultivates a rare hybrid of Mata Fina and Corojo — a bold expression of Haitian terroir.

This filler is the soul of every Capello cigar. It brings structure, complexity, and a distinct character shaped by Haiti’s volcanic terrain and humid Caribbean microclimate.

    What defines our Haitian filler:

    • Flavor Profile: Medium in body, layered with notes of cocoa husk, roasted cashew, dried fruit, and a subtle, mineral-driven spice that reflects the land.

    • Texture & Burn: Smooth on the palate yet structured in delivery, offering a slow, steady combustion and a balanced evolution from foot to finish.

    • Priming Composition: Blended across multiple leaf levels — lower primings for delicate aroma, mid-primings for natural sweetness, and upper primings for depth and strength. The result is a harmonious core that anchors the entire blend with elegance and purpose.

    • Rarity & Craftsmanship: Unlike mass-produced filler tobaccos, Haitian-grown Mata Fina–Corojo is cultivated in limited quantities. It is a labor-intensive leaf, hand-selected for quality, and emblematic of Capello’s commitment to authenticity and artisanal cigar making.

Capello’s Haitian filler isn’t just a component — it’s a declaration. A tribute to overlooked excellence, ancestral knowledge, and the pursuit of flavor without compromise.

  • Capello Binder: Haitian-Grown Olor

Often overlooked but absolutely essential, the binder is the quiet architect of a cigar’s structure — holding the filler together, guiding the burn, and adding a delicate layer of flavor that completes the blend. At Capello, we use a rare Haitian-grown Olor leaf as our binder — a deliberate choice that brings continuity, authenticity, and a refined touch to every cigar.

    Why Olor from Haiti?

Grown in the mineral-rich valleys of central Haiti, our Olor binder is prized for its silky texture, natural elasticity, and even-burning quality. It wraps the filler with strength and grace, ensuring construction integrity and a smooth, reliable draw from start to finish.

    Flavor Contribution

Though more subtle than the filler or wrapper, the Olor binder imparts gentle earthy undertones, hints of cedar, and a whisper of sweetness — all designed to support and elevate the core blend without distraction. Its role is quiet, but critical — a backstage presence that enhances the harmony of the entire experience.

    A Statement of Origin

By using Olor from Haiti, Capello maintains a true single-origin profile across both filler and binder. This reinforces the cigar’s regional identity and showcases the untapped potential of Haitian tobacco — a rare terroir defined by craftsmanship, resilience, and pride.

The Capello binder isn’t just functional — it’s foundational. A mark of purity, precision, and purposeful blending.

  • Capello Wrapper: Dominican Sun Grown Habano

The wrapper is the face of the cigar — the first impression, both visually and on the palate. At Capello, we use a Sun Grown Habano wrapper cultivated in the Dominican Republic, chosen for its richness, complexity, and commanding presence.

    Sun Grown Dominican Origin

Exposed to full Caribbean sunlight, this leaf develops a thicker texture, higher oil content, and deeper flavor intensity than its shade-grown counterparts. The sun’s natural stress enhances the tobacco’s strength and essential oils, producing a wrapper that’s bold, aromatic, and beautifully expressive.

    Habano Heritage

Born from Cuban Habano seed, this wrapper maintains the spicy, dynamic character of its lineage — but with the added depth and elegance imparted by Dominican soil. The result is a profile that’s rich, structured, and unmistakably premium.

    Visual Appeal

Its appearance is striking: a deep rosado-brown hue, lightly textured with fine veins and a natural sheen. It’s a wrapper that signals both strength and refinement, crafted to elevate the entire cigar experience.

    Flavor Contribution

Expect pronounced notes of black pepper, dark chocolate, toasted wood, and a hint of floral complexity. This wrapper brings a final layer of spice and structure, rounding out the Haitian-grown filler and binder with precision and authority.

The Capello wrapper isn’t just a finishing touch — it’s the signature. The final stroke in a composition of heritage, terroir, and mastery.
